inner tie rods on 06 yukon

I have to install inner and outer tie rods on my 06 yukon. I was reading the Heynes repair manual and it sais If the inner tie rods are bad you can't replace them alone you have to replace the center link and inner tie rods as one piece. funny though because he parts are sold individually. kinda confused, does anybody know what up with this?

When the inner tie rods go bad they will move around under there, in doing so that can cause the center link to bend or warp as a result.
