It's time for my Tahoe to go under the knife, wrench, again. Changing out the idler and pitman arms. While doing research and pricing out parts I have come across and little thing called the Idler Arm Bracket. From my understanding, its only something in the 2wd models? A mechanic friend of mine said that my 4wd will need one though. So I am kinda confused as to whether or not I actually need to by one. I'm hoping that someone else out there can chime in on this post and let me know.

I went to the parts store, and of course they are clueless about anything their computer doesn't tell them. Also, when I went in to purchase the I.Arm and P.Arm I had them bring out the bracket too. The part is giant, but isn't anything that sticks out from looking under the front end.

I think your 4wd will need a bracket also if it is bad.

Look up under where the idler arm is, should be a large bracket with 3 bolts holding it in place......
