Hello all. I just bought a 2007 Tahoe LTZ and it has the factory navigation with dvd plus roof mounted dvd. I did not receive the manual for the touch nav or roof dvd. My question is if I am playing a dvd and turn off the engine to go into store etc. on starting back up the dvd resumes play on the touch screen but not up top. Even once its in gear and the message displays cant view while driving or whatever it says. I can hear the audio but the video up top is not playing. Can anyone help me out on this? I am sure its probably something simple but I'm a post superduty owner so its new to me.

Thx,
Shane

Did you get a remote control with it? That's how the kids run the DVD in my 'Hoe.

My Wife is fit to be tied over it. My Son isn't nearly as pissed though he want to know how to fix it also.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Once the engine is on AND you have the DVD remote with the overhead console down, all you need to do is red power button on the remote and the overhead screen will turn on. Why it doesn't automatically turn on I don't know? This is what I learned from the complaining of my 7 year old niece! Hope that helps.

Hey Rebound, I forgot to mention it was used. I also did not get a spare key and fob...ouch...and the manual for the navigation. Luckily 07 owners get the 2 free upgrades on the software cause I didn't get the disc either. I got a hell of a deal so I'm not to disappointed.

For some reason, I already had the idea that it was used. What I meant was, shame that the previous owner screwed you by losing it/not giving it to you.

That's ok - when I bought mine brand-new, we had to ask the dealer for both the remote, AND the headphones. Real geniuses, some of these dealers!

I just picked up a used 2007 LTZ (White) and had the same issue with my son this evening. It sucks that I didn't get headphones and the remote, but I will be getting them ASAP.

In the mean time, if you eject the DVD and put it in again, the rear screen will start up again. It's a pain to find the chapter though.

eBay here I come.

You can go to myGMlink.com and see the owner's manual if you didn't get one.

When the wife and I purchased the Tahoe, ours didn't come with the remote or headphones either but I demanded them before we left the dealership. The parts dept just happened to have a pair of headphones and the remote in stock. Having the remote makes using the DVD a WHOLE lot easier.

+1

My 'Hoe came from another dealer, so when I got in, that's the first thing I looked for. There were no headphones or remote, so I told the salesman I wasn't taking it without them (would have been hell to get after I left the lot, I'm sure!). They just grabbed a set out of another 'Hoe/'Kon and gave it to me. No sweat.

I tried that, but like a moron, tried it AFTER I did the deal. It was a rushed situation all together.

[STORY] I was turning left into a Mexican Restaurant for the $4.20 Thursday lunch special in my Land Rover LR3, and a young lady (teen on a cell phone) hit the back of me doing 45mph in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The story she told the officer was that she "wasn't paying attention, and just hit me." Needless to say, she was cited, and I was out a LR3. Insurance totaled the car. I found out last Friday that my rental car, through insurance, ran out on Monday.

That forced me to buy a car over the weekend. The wife and I went back and forth, and we finally decided on Saturday that we wanted another Tahoe. We bought a new 2004 z71, back when my son was born and gas was $1.59 and LOVED it. Then my wife got a company car (Grand Prix) and we didn't need 3 vehicles, so we sold it. Barn doors were her favorite, though she is getting used to the power tailgate.

So we found a dealer open on Sunday, from 11-6, and we drove a new 2008, and then saw a used 2007 on the same lot with the same stuff we wanted (sunroof, NAV, DVD). Saved $$$ that will go in the tank. [STORY]

Although I liked the LR3, I'm happy to have an all GM garage.
