Hi Guys,
My 2000 Hoe, 4WD, LS, 5.3L started making a whining sound in the last three weeks, and I finally got it to my mechanic and on the rack yesterday. My rearend has a bearing going out, I heard it loud and clear. It sounds like the pinion bearing.
Either way, I'm going to buy a complete bearing set and have him replace them all since the metal shavings are everywhere by now, but I don't know which size diff I have. I've been told by a parts guy that it's an 8.25 or 8.625 inch. It has a 10-bolt cover. Is there a reliable way to know which diff size I have?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated guys!
Thanks,
Barry
