How do you reset the service engine light

The vehicle is a 2005 Yukon with the 5.3. My wife told me it came on today. I took it to be read and they said the gas cap was not on tight. We checked the cap but it was on tight so I bought a new one. Now I need to know how to reset the light to see if that solves my problem.

You could try disconnecting the battery for about 5 minutes I am not sure if that would work also if you are near an advance auto they can scan it for you and possibly clear it
