i wouldn't dream of it, to me tahoes and suburbans are about power, making them hybrids just kinda makes them sound weak, hybrids are for little 70hp pruis things. Im not a person who is to concerned about global warming and think its a big hoax to get people to do stuff like this.

The Hybrid version has the full HP gas motor, it just has a electric to kick in during normal driving. From what I have read it will handle most anything the normal version will. My problem is first year for it and I don't think the added cost of the Hybrid is going to over come the savings at the pump.

Yeah those would be my concerns as well.

I think most people buy Hybrids to be "ECO-Friendly" not necessarily for the economic advantage. But yeah, not a first year, first ever Chevy full size SUV

i didn't say it was underpowered, i meant it just sounds underpowered and sombody who does not go and look these things up is going to think the same,

but i do agree with the savings, the only benefit is you get a tax return or somthing, although i think that only appliess to full hybrids.

also i don't think i would feel comfortable driving this off road, even though it said you could, i would just be worried about the electric system.

Yea, I didn't think of that, I'm with you there. I would hate to see what it would do if you were off road and hit a good bit of water and mud

The motors and batteries must be alot of extra weight, which would be a concern for those who will be towing things.
I wouldn't get one because I go off road. There are enough things that can go wrong when you are off road that I wouldn't want to add a few more things that could go wrong.
For the 2wd models, hybrids might be good. For 4wd, I wouldn't do it.

If I had gotten a 2wd I would have considered hybrid. But then again, If I didn't need 4wd I would likely have gotten a minivan. A 4wd minivan would be nice, too bad nobody makes them for sale in the US.

im glad they dont, minivans are the most un cool, stupid, cars ever made, and the fact that people drive them just makes them a looser, coining the term LOOSER CRUZER. i hate hate hate minivans.

1. for how little power they have, they still get only 15mpg, and i have a big v-8 that gets that
2. you can only tow like 500 pounds
3. people try to make them sporty and their not
4. people or cargo, not both like my xl
5. a toyota minivan is the worst thing in the world, because i hate toyota and minivans, so is a honda minivan for the same reason, and all other forign car makers, other than mercedes.

Unfortunately, I need people space or cargo space with 4wd in a vehicle that is not as long as an XL. The minivan provides everything except the 4wd. I dont care if it is ugly, I need the utility. If I want to look cool I'll buy a vette or a ferrari or something.

I'd rather have the normal version. The hybrid lacks features and doesn't perform (like cargo space) like the regular Tahoe.

No, you won't see a big savings when it comes to the total cost of the hybrid compared to the gas that you will be saving. And perhaps it might be heavier than a normal Tahoe but Chevy did trim the weight on other parts of the Tahoe. "In addition, the hood and liftgate are made of lightweight aluminum and the low-mass aluminum wheels are outfitted with low rolling-resistance tires."

http://www.chevrolet.com/hybrid/

This vehicle will be geared towards two types of consumers. The ones that care about the environment and will spend a little more to produce less exhaust and those that will just drop and extra ten grand just to impress others.

If I had known about a hybrid version coming out, then I would have probably bought one. So I might just lease one for business purposes. And if I ever have to tow a large boat, I will let you all know how it did.
