Help with rear gate glass handle/latch

Guys, I have 2006 Yukon denali. The rear gate glass handle that is on the glass itself. on the outside you have the handle and on the inside you have a plate with the latch held by two nuts. the plate on the inside is almost all rotted out. Very easy to remove but the delaer will not sell this piece alone they want me to buy the whole glass for about $800. junk yard does not have it any ideas on this?
