Hey guys,
I own a 97 Tahoe 4x4. Well it was time to replace the upper ball joints cause the front end had a "clunk" when turning left. Changed out both sides and still have the clunk.
Well after examining the whole front end I found a cracked weld on the torsion bar cross member, On the driver's side there was a weld which attached the cross member to the frame and there is no sign of a bead of weld on the passenger side. Not sure if this is a factory weld or not.(Bought the truck used and who knows)
My question is, "Is the cross member(where the torsion bar's end) suppose to be welded to the frame on the driver side only?"
I am hoping someone can look under their hoe and/or knows for sure.
Really appreciate the help before I re-weld it.
