I won an FOB on ebay for my 2000 Tahoe. I went and got a new battery, and used these programming instructions and nothing :cuss:

The GM/LEAR #: 15043458 FCC ID is: KOBLEAR1XT

Am I using the wrong FOB? Wrong programming instructions? HELP!

That's the instructions I used and the FCC ID was the same but my fob is a GM/LEAR 15042968 3 button.
Do your locks cycle when you do the procedure? At what point does it fail to match up?

yea, wrong fob. The vehicle remote may look the same, but the codes are different in the vehicle. You need a tahoe remote.

Well the ebay listing said it was for a Tahoe from '01-04. I figured at least the '00-'01 would have the same remote. I'll just have to put it back on ebay, but if someone could with a '00 could confirm the FOB, then I'll know which to buy.

Wish I could help you man, but my rig didn't come with any FOBs, and the dealership can't get any to program correctly on my truck. :cuss:

They think my body control module is shot.

Damn that sucks. How did they get to that conclusion? Did you try to buy an FOB through the stealership?

Well the place I bought my truck from was a Subaru dealership, funnily enough (Mike Shaw up in Thornton...I used to work up at I-25 and 58th). The truck didn't have any FOBs when I bought it and they said that they'd get me some FOBs and spare keys at dealership cost if I drove down to their GMC dealership in the springs...but I didn't feel like driving down there.

Long story short, I went to Medved in Castle Rock last summer, and they said that the FOBs wouldn't program correctly, and that they suspected it was a problem with the BCM. I would either be stuck with a $99 electrical diagnosis charge or a $350 fix if it was the BCM...more than I wanted to pay. I just told them no thanks and I just use my keys. Kinda sucks not having keyless entry, but I've gotten used to it. I might take my truck over to Burt Chevy and see if they can come to a different conclusion. I need to head over there for an alignment and brake flush anyway.
