I am supposed to splice a wire to my parking brake switch but I don't know exactly where it is. I am assuming it is right behind the parking brake but there is so much other stuff up there. Do I need to disable the airbag system to do this? And, should I go ahead and bypass the parking brake and just install it on a 12v accessory wire in my fuse block so it can play video's whenever? I have a 2001 Tahoe w/o Bose w/onstar.

just ground that wire with a switch in between that will make the unit think the parking brake has been applied. if you need a foot brake input it is a white wire off of the brake petal under the dash hop this helps you . for more wiring diagrams check out (THE12VOLT.COM)
