I have an issue that I have read some on, but with no definite luck answering. My wife's denali decided to stop steering easily to the left. Said differently, it acts like there is no power steering to the left, and full power steering to the right. Obviously it is not the pump, otherwise both directions would be difficult. Has anyone either experienced this or figured out what the most likely problem is? Any direction would be appreciated.

Thanks,

JP

Welcome to the neighborhood JP!

What you need to do first is fully flush your power steering fluid. Below is a link to my photobucket pics of the procedure, I haven't had a chance to build a DIY here yet. But, when power steering fluid gets old, you can have issues with steering not acting right, as well as softer feeling brake pedal, etc.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply, but I am fearful it is more than this. It is literally like turning the wheel while turned off to the left while parked, and you can spin it with one finger to the right. If it is, this is a quick fix, but am willing to try. Thanks again.

While you are dong that flush, make sure to get under the truck and boudle check your idler and pitman arms for play, and check your hub bearings. IF you need help with instructions let me know.
