Heater core flush

I've noticed that my heat doesn't seem to get as hot as it should be on my 04 Tahoe, even at high fan speed and hottest temp setting. Water pump was just replaced and no leaking coolant. Before I put a bunch more $$ into it, do you guys recommend doing a core flush? I'm sure after 240K miles it's likely needed and something my son and I could do. Thanks!

Is your thermostat stuck open? That would be a cheap part to replace to see if it makes a difference.
