Heated seat problem

I just purchased a 2008 Denalii. When trying to turn on the rear heated seats, ight comes on for a few seconds and then goes out. I also hear a relay click of some sort. This happens for both the driver and passenger rear seats. The front seat heaters work fine. Before taking a one day old car back to the dealer, does anyone have any ideas about this problem?

I am new to all of this as well (just purchased an '07 Tahoe), but maybe you have to actually be sitting in the seat for the seat heater to work. Try that out.
