Hey Guys, just found this forum- 1st post. I want to put a set of H2 Hummer wheels on my '01 1500 Yukon. The H2's are 17" 8-lugs, but I found a company that sells the required 6-lug to 8 lug billet adaptors needed (http://www.ezaccessory.com/Wheel_Adapter_6_Lug_5_5_To_8_Lug_6_5_p/6550-8650.htm). Has anybody used these adaptors or maybe even gone sop far as to swap the axles in from a 2500? How about tire sizes used, how much suspension lift is required, etc? Thanks!

You would seriously swap axles just to fit 8 lug wheels? Why dont you just look for some nice aftermarket wheels.

I'm not sure what the offset is on the H2 Rims, but those wheel adapters are also 2" spacers, so i'd imagine that with those adapters and H2 rims, you would be picking up quite a bit of width.

As for tires, just find a tire that is the stock diameter but for a 17". Unless you want to lift, that is.

Well, I have swapped axles in the past on different truck- 3/4 to 1 ton, but I was thinking after I posted that the 2500 Yukons probably have a leaf spring instead of coils- not sure- that might just be more PITA than it's worth. But the adaptors seem pretty decent- aside from a 2" thickness- but that might not be too bad in the grand scheme of things. The H2 wheels are 17X8.5 with 5 9/16" BS, and a 20mm positive wheel offset. Kinda seemed like a cool thing to do until I discovered the H2's were 8 lug. Just can't seem to get the idea out of my head though...

Maybe buy some H3 wheels, those are 6x5.5 or buy a 3/4 ton suburban or yukon and they'll bolt right up. Swapping to 8lug is much more difficult, you would have about 10k into a solid axle swap when all was said and done. If you are interested check out www.offroadunlimited.com they do some pretty dope sas swaps on these trucks

Yeah, I checked that out already too. I don't care much at all for those H3 wheels. I'll probably just buy the adaptors and go that route. I'll post a pic when I get it together. Thanks!
