GM sell Allison transmission for 5.6 billion!

Very stupid move GM! That could have been a great asset. I wonder if it means no more Allison trans missions in GM vehicles.

Probably they came up with exclusive ideas, so that's why they sold the Allison.

Allison has been a part of GM since the beginning. AL Sloan thought it was a great thing to have as a competitive advantage over Ford.
I think we're seeing GM get back to it's core and selling off big chunks - Delphi, Allison, GMAC might give them the necessary cash to pay down their pension fund problems and do some R&D.
