I just got a Notice of a class action lawsuit on 2003 - 2005 Tahoes, Burbs, Escaldes ETC ETC, manufactued before Dec. 31, 0f 2004.

I guess the lawsuit is for speedometers that do not last the life of the vehical. And that are not accurate speed.

WTF, I am not fillng it out. I think its a joke, lets sue them so our cars cost more....But then again I have not had a problem with my speedo.
But I have had injectors/fuel pump and other things go wrong. Doesn't mean I would sue them for it

Anybody else get this in the mail?
Anyone else thinks it is BS to sue over this?

I got this one too, and I have had a problem with my speedo. I have been able to get it to reset, mine is about 25k over the 70k warranty. If I get it to fail again I will go dicker with the dealer again and see if they will fix it, no way am I paying $300 to fix it.

IMO, this is a safety related item and they should fix it at any time no matter the miles.

I think it's total bull****. I thought they were being generous by giving the extended warranty on them. Come on, seriously, I think we all knew that we were getting ourselves into buying Chevy. Yeah, I love GM and wouldn't buy anyhting else, but I'm not going to argue that they're as reliable as foreign competitors when they get up there in miles.

For those people out there with 90k miles on your trucks, yeah that does suck that you have to pay $300 for a new cluster, but you knew your truck came with a 36k warranty, don't act shocked. I put a new one in my 2003 Z71 at 85k, and didn't get paid back for it, it's not that big a deal.

Yeah, I got one too. All it was saying was that you'd get a free cluster if under 70k miles which you could do on your own without being in the class action. If the suit was won, then you'd get one if you had under 80k. Big deal. Seems like a waste of paper to me since you could go to the dealer and probably accomplish the same thing if you're nice.

Now if it extended the warranty on the clusters to 100k, then I'd be interested.

Yup, and if I read it correct, it said that the if it fails between 70k and 80k, they will cover only the PART cost, not the labor. Sounds like the lawsuit is pretty much a failure - they only got them to budge 10k miles and not even the full cost at that.

All you have to do is go to a respectable chevy dealership and as long as you are not way over 70k, they will most likely replace it for free. I was at 74k and it was free, had the part ordered in two days.

I think the lawsuit is for reimbursement for people whom paid for it years ago out of their pockets. Mine has 76K and is doing it, but I have a warranty to 100K.

I also recieved one of those, and have not had any problems w/ mine. so heres my .02

Ive had a dealer here in OKC tell me that they would fix for FREE my speedo up until 100k. Of course this was after 3 days of arguing about my catalytic(sp) converter went out just b4 80k. By the time they got me a slot to get it fixed I was 400 miles over(aint life a kick in the nuts sometimes?) They said I was on my own w/ the catalytic converter, but could/would change out my speedo until 100k.
Now Im all kinds of confused.

My wife said we just got a letter in the mail from GM about this. Good thing I only have 48000 miles on my 04. Free cluster for me!
In the letter it said something about the speedo and fuel guage may be in accurate. My fuel guage has been acting weird ever since I bought it.
