Gauge questions

Hi. I am new. I just purchased a 1999 chevrolet tahoe police package with 128,000 miles on it. It is in great condition. I am having a problem with the tach and speedometer gauges. When I start it up, sometimes the tach and the speedo wont work. If I cut it off right after I start it up, then it will work, At least most of the time it will. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it? Second, My oil pressure gauge runs about 40-45 but after a while it will drop between the 30 - 35 mark. It increases as I mash the gas. Should I be concerned? I am from north Louisiana, and I bought it from a 76 year old police chief of a local small town and he has been the only or primary driver of this unit since it waas bought new in 1999. the Oil pressure is normal if you look in the manuel it says that as far as the speedo I guess I would chuck the plug wires behind the speedo to see if maybe they need to be plugged in more you can also check spped sending unit if equiped

your oil gauge is completly normal, ovesly your gunna build up more pressure as the more stress on the engine, the more oil it needs to stay cool.

speedo and tach are not my thing, you will get tons of help though
