Hi all.
I recently had my brake lines replaced because of corrosion...the rust under this 2003 Tahoe is unreal! So when my mechanic was finished like 2 weeks ago, he said to me that everything under it looked really corroded. He said the fuel lines and transmission lines looked bad and would only be a matter of time. I've now noticed the smell of gas both in and out of the car. The weather has been wet/snowy so it's hard to spot on the driveway or the garage floor. I also noticed it has been starting a little harder than usual. Any ideas on where to start? I've also done some research and the rusting seems to be a problem...is there a TSB or anything on the corrosion issue?

I would find a dye that would be ok to use with fuel and put that in the tank. Use a Uv light to spot it.

Sounds about right for a fuel leak. First likely thing to go is the fuel filter. I would replace that first. Had the same issue on my 01 Grand Cherokee

Just got the '03 'Hoe back. The mechanic said the fuel line was simply corroded. He replaced the fuel line with plastic. He also said that GM should have some type of TSB or something in his opinion. The rust and corrosion is not something he should be seeing in 9 or 10 yr old vehicles. So the brake lines, fuel lines have been replaced and now he's telling me the tranny lines look bad as well...is this a problem that's seen on these?

Tahoe corrosion

Rust is a big problem on the Tahoe, I have a 2005 Z71 and have replaced all my brake lines, fuel lines, transmission lines and most recently the fuel pump itself. The actual steel connections coming out of the pump rusted through allowing a fine mist of fuel to spray whenever it was running. This was hard to find as it did not set a code or leave a puddle but the fumes from the gas were really strong. The pump was corroded so badly that the fuel line disconnects could not even be removed, had to cut the line and splice in new ones.
