Went out like normal and started the truck and the starter kept going, disconnected the battery, waited a few seconds and tapped the starter cable to the battery and it didn't start cranking again. So I hooked everything back up and tried starting it and nothing. Checked fuses and the 40 amp "IGN A" fuse was popped put in another and that popped when I tried starting it again. Traced wires and found the smaller red wire going from*fuse*panel*to the starter was shorted. Replaced that and put the fuse back in and it started cranking again with no keys in the ignition. I tried turning the key to run position and putting the fuse back in and the fuel pump isn't kicking on even with the ign fuse out and key in run position. Also noticed none of the dash warning indicator lights are working. Went to the bone yard and tried two different ignition switches and have still have the same problem. And randomly today the keyless stopped working. Also getting no spark on the spark plugs. Am I looking at the computer crapping out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Computer does not generate spark, ICM in distributor generates spark and the computer will control the timing of the spark.

How was the wire shorted?

Leave a wire off the power feed to the ignition switch, two red wires should be hot all the time at ign switch, yellow will have 12v on crank, Pink, brown, orange, white will have power with igntion on.

Have you pulled out the starter relay?
