My 99 tahoe won't start. It used to me make that whining noise and now it doesn't. So I believe its my fuel pump. If its the fuel pump, how difficult is it to replace the fuel pump?:skep:

I have an 02 Tahoe and it was pretty hard I dropped it off at the dealer for 3 days. (luckily it was under warrantee). they had to drop the fuel tank and then from what the guy told me they have a lot of trouble with braking bolts and what not on it, its not a cheap job to pay out of pocket but if you can pull the tank down and do it yourself the part was under 200 bucks.

while someone is cranking the vehicle hit the gas tank with a hammer, dont dent tank just rattle stuff around. if it starts you need a new pump, if not check fuses and relays first then drop tank and see if you have power to sending unit if you do then replace pump and be sure to replace filter also when doing so get pump at dealer only ive had problems with others and gm has new style with diff electrical plug in that you will need to swap out to. oh reason i said to check electrical at sending unit is connector has been an intermittant deal for me swap pump still nodda drop it out again and connector had power but wasnt gettn threw to pump. broke bolts is common in saltty and humid areas unsure were your from may not be a problem.
