New Member, just found this site. Looks like a bunch of great info. Thanks.

I am having a problem with my fuel gauge on my 05 Tahoe. I noticed a few weeks ago that if I am parked on an incline when I start my engine, the fuel gauge will read either low or high depending on slope up or down. But when I start driving, it takes a long time to change back to what it should read. What I mean by a long time is in 15 minutes it may move only an 1/8 of a tank even when it is off by more than a half tank. I have even changed my odometer reading to show range. It will match where ever the needle reads. Then it will only climb maybe 1-2 miles per minute. Most of the time I am just around town, so I have not taken it on a long enough trip to see it ever comes back to where it should be. I brought it in to the dealer here and first time they changed the fuel sensor. Still had same problem. So brought it again and they uploaded new software to fix it. Still has same problem. Now the shop says that is how it is suppose to work. I think they just don't know what to do now.

Does anyone have any suggestions. Or am I wrong.

Thanks for any help.

Same thing happens in mine. If you park on a slope with the front end facing down, then it will read low. Just something you have to deal with. I have had several different cars do the same thing (American cars). I don't think it's a big deal, and I doubt there is a fix for it.
