Fuel capacity

2005 Tahoe Z71 5.3L 182,000 miles

The manual says fuel capacity is 26 gallons. When I run it waaay down into the E on the gauge all it will accept is (today or any day previous) 15.7 gallons.

Is the manual mistaken or is there some sort of obstruction that doesn't allow a complete fill?

the fuel capacity for the tahoe is 26 gallons. How many miles are you getting between fillups and is it hw or local driving? Maybe the fuel gage motor is going bad or the sending level sensor could be the culprit also, it could be any of these but bottom line when you run alway to empty you should be able to get about 23 gallons unless you run it to fumes then you will get the 26 lol
