Anyone change out the front rotors on 2007+ tahoe. Mine are warped 30k miles. Should I stay with oem or go performance and where to get them?

Thanks,

Aaron

Have you tried getting the dealer to turn them for you? I've had the dealer turn them under warranty before (on my grand prix), due to the fact that they shouldn't have warped so soon. If they won't do it, I'd say upgrade, that way you won't have to replace them again(hopefully) in 30k more miles.

The reasons a rotor will warp:

Continuous high speed stopping
Applying cold water to a hot rotor (when you wash truck)
Frozen caliper not allowing pads to retract

I see no reason for performance rotors on our trucks.....its not like you're hot lappin it at the track. But I drive very easy except when responding to an FD call. HQ is only .2 miles away so it isnt bad.
If you have a lead foot then maybe A/M is the way to go. But if this only occurred once at 30 K miles, save your money.

If you stay with factory set up, continue with OEM rotors.
Also, just because you replace a rotor, doesnt mean it's spinning true. I have cut brand new rotors and they were out of round considerably.
Food for thought....!!
