I just changed motor oil on my 2004 4x4 Tahoe. I noticed on the front passenger side CV shaft(not sure if that is what its called), where the shaft that drives the front passenger side wheel goes into the housing. That seal is leaking. Is this a job you can do yourself, or is there any special tools required?

It looks like, take wheel off, take tie rod end of, slide hub off to the side pull the shaft out of the case, replace seal..

Not too difficult, I'd remove the entire diff tho it is quite easy on these trucks and much better to work with if out of the vehicle.

Looks like the hardest part is taking the tie rod/ball joint off to move the wheel hub assembly out enuf to get the shaft out.....

Just beat the hell out of the balljoint if it doesn't come out, might need a fork if it's really obstinate.

Mine does. I think if you bought it used from a GM dealer with 60,00 or less miles. They will have the 5 year 100,00 mile warrenty. Look in all your paperwork, from when you bought it. I have they warrenty card, and on it it says what is covered.

That is they was I was told by a dealer.
