this may seem like a stupid question but i dont have the time to check this out until sunday (my only day off from 2 jobs). is there a simple way to tell without removing the wheels to know if my front rotors are just the disc or the disc/hub? it is a 1995 Tahoe 5.7 LT 2wd. i know i should just pull a wheel but i honestly dont have much time til sunday and im trying to get the parts ahead of time.

in the 94-99 they should all just be disc, take the wheel and caliper off and they should come right off, if they are rusted or really stuck a solid wack with a rubber mallet should loosen them up

I replaced both of my calipers for about $25 each, and got a set of ACDelco ceramic pads for about $15, easy to do and highly suggest it over paying to have your discs resurfaced

2wd the bearings are IN the rotor. 4wd there is a hub and the rotor slides over the wheel studs. 2wd the studs are IN the rotor, spindle on 2wd has 2 bearings in the rotor, big on on the back side, slide rotor over spindle, put smaller outer bearing into the rotor and shims/washer and install nut, torque, then dust cap..... been there done that......

That's bizarre that they had it so much different in the 2wd vs 4wd, good to know at least, not that I will ever purchase a 2wd pickup/SUV lol
