I just found some 9005's in my garage from my 2004 Denali, I now have a 2007 Denali. Will the 9005's work in my fog lights? I thought that I saw GetsWired used 9005's in his. If so how hard are they to install and get to yourself and do I need to make any modifications?
Thanks
DO NOT use a halogen / incandescent 9005 in your 2007+ foglight. They're 55 Watts or higher, and the OE bulb is like 27W. You
will melt the housing. Been there, done that. Near as I can tell, the only way to get a replacement PS24W OE fog bulb is from the dealer.
Unless you're using the crappy OE bulb, you're modding the bulb base to make them fit.
If you want, use a HID kit and get the light output you're yearning for without melting the housing (they're 35W, and they're safe). NO issues with 35W HIDs in my OE housings.
The link to my thread is in my sig -- all the info you need is there.
