I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what? Do the fog lights not stay on when the lights come on after you've turned off your vehicle and then restart it later? I will start my car at night, headlights come on and i press the fog light button to turn the fogs on. After i've parked it, return back to the vehicle and start it, the headlights come on but not the fogs until i press the button again. Is that just how the Tahoe is programmed?

I forget what it's called but if you notice the switch is not the kind that has a "permanent" on/off position, it just springs back from the contact each time it's pushed. So there's really no way for it to retain open or closed, and so it resets to off each time the ignition is turned off. It's probably a good thing though, as fog lights are supposed to be decided on at each trip.

Thanks for the replies guys! I wasn't sure. On my Camaro, you can have them on or off anytime the headlights come on. I thought the Tahoe was the same.

I simply ran a wire from the parking light hot wire to the fog light hot wire. They now come on automatically with the headlights/parking lights.

The reason why they put foglights on there own dedicated 12 V line is not to overload the relay switch/headlight switch. By tying the lines like you did is a good way to burn your headlight switch out. It won't happen in a few days, or even a few months, it may take a year or so to burn the headlight switch out but it sure will.

I think he's right. You'd do better to run a relay from the headlight wire, maybe with the hot using the fog light hot to bridge/bypass the switch. So the headlights on tell the relay to close, and that circuit is using the same actual fog light wiring just bypassing the switch. Actually it probably already has its own relay but I don't know if that would be too much trouble to find and tap correctly.
