theres not a good way to do it. theres an adapter out there that you wire into your rear speaker cables. it adds a set of RCA cables that you can plug your amp into.

the major drawback is you can't adjust your speakers and subs seperatly like you can on most aftermarket headunits.

In my opinion, the biggest drawback with using a speaker level converter is the sound quality suffers. You are taking a signal that is amplified by the head unit, and stepping it back down to pre-amp levels. You are always going to get some noise when you amplify a signal, especially from a factory head unit. Then you reduce the signal level (with noise from added the head unit), pipe that into another amplifier, the output of which adds more noise (albeit usually much less than the factory head unit). So you have the noise added from the head unit combined with whatever noise you get from your amplifier, and the sound quality is much poorer than you would have with an aftermarket head unit with pre-amp outputs going into an amp.

Sorry about the book I just wrote, but I wanted to make it clear to anyone who is planning on doing this. You will definitely get better sound quality with aftermarket.

You need a line output converter in order to install it into your factory head unit. Honestly if your using subs your not gonna notice all this (noise) everyone is talking about. If you have good subs and the beat up then your not gonna notice anything. Install it into your rear speakers and turn your bass down on your regular speakers. Allow your amp going strickly to your subs to power the bass. By adjusting the bass on your speakers it will barely make any difference. You got the amp for a reason let it do its work. If you want it to hit harder then get an aftermarket and run it out of that and use the seperate controls to up the bass. But its always better to even with seperate controls to leave them turned down and let your amp do the work.
