Experience on repairs of a Navigation radio...

I've been thinking about buying a used factory Nav unit but was curious if anyone had any experience of fixing them if they do go out. What kind of expenses have been seen repairing them. I'm pretty sure after I Tech II it the warranty people will no longer have any interest in including my radio in any extended warranty.
