this is gonna sound dumb but can you install a z71 exhaust on a LT tahoe. if not what is the difference.

sure i wouldn't see why not.. the only thing that might affect it not fitting is model years.

What does Z71 have to do with exhaust? I don't know (but doubt) if it was different within previous model years, but I'm pretty sure it isn't within the GMT 900 line. S.V.T. is right in that I'd be willing to bet that the exhaust from any 06 or < won't even be close to fitting in any 07+. I don't even think it's different with or without AutoRide...

I do not think there is a difference in the exhaust among the models (LT, Z71, LTZ) for the same year.

Yeah, exhausts for >2007 will not fit <2006 models.

Do you have access to a used exhaust? If you are looking for a cheap exhaust mod, just replace the muffler with a Magnaflow or Flowmaster.

Not that you haven't been told enough times but the answer is NO. 2006to2006 yes, 2007to2006 = NO!

how much louder would my truck be if i just did a magna flow muffler? all i'm really lookin for is a nice tip to accentuate my truck, since the stock muffler tip is small and junky.
