So the P/O of my 97 tahoe had some headers installed....worked ok for several years. Began leaking at the collector gasket. I replaced about 3 of tghese before having it welded to eliminate taking the time to replace the blown out gasket again.
It then developed a leak in the header itself. I attempted a repair weld to the crack i could see, with no luck.
My question is am I able to remove and replace with an OEM or aftermarket exhaust manifold on just the passenger side? or will I be doing some further damage to the truck by only replacing the one side?

I will remove and try and weld the header on a bench since that will be the cheapest fix right now, but if i am unable to get it to seal up, i just want to have a plan B.
many thanks for your input...

If the headder is welded to the Y pipe, good luck, but I guess one side would be ok, but would be better to do both sides..... When you go to weld it, heat it up with a torch pretty hot so it wont be as likely to crack on ya again......
