purchased this:

now my LTZ has every option save for 4 wheel drive and the heated steering wheel...not certain if that was available. As I understand it the heated steering wheel is 'self contained' in that the 'wood' ring is the heater:

question....when I install the wheel will the current harness have a jumper to supply power to the 'heater'?

In a word, no.

Here's what I found from another forum from a very knowledgeable guy:

"The heated steering wheel will not work as a plug and play device.

The system takes power from a fuse in the under-hood fuse block #48 which Tahoe's are not pre-wired for.
You will need to add a connector at possition #48 and install a 15Amp fuse then run the power lead up the the steering column and pin it in the center possition of steering Wheel module controller (SWMC) connecter , you will also need to install an in-line 7.5Amp fuse before the steering wheel.

The two wire leads listed below will probably already be present in most Tahoes:
Then you need to run a signal reference wire (if not present) from the GN/WH lead out of the SWMC to the position C9 of the body Control Module (BCM).
Lastly you will need to run a ground lead (if not already present from the final empty socket in the SWMC.

Once it is all connected if it does not work then a VCI code will need to be obtained from GM to allow this function via the BCM, this can be very tricky to get."

Hope this helps.
