Hey guys. Does anny one know if the 00 Tahoe 5,3 Lt engine, tranny and rear axle are compatible with the 04,05 or 06 Tahoe z71?
The reason im asking is becase im thinking of uppgrading my 00 and to get around tax issues in Norway one can change these three major conponents and it is still registered as the original car (00 Lt)

Regards
Nic

Besides the electronic throttle body on the new 03 - 06 and the 4L65 I dont think anything is different really so it would be alot of work for nothing.

The ETC was available on previous model years also. And if I'm not mistaken, I'm almost 100% sure the 4l65 wasn't available for our trucks. It was either the 4l60e or 4l80e.

Depending on what drive train you get the 03+ silverado and escalade had the 4L65 or if you plan on getting one out of a tahoe it will be a 4L60. 00-02 are cable throttle bodies not electronic.

Wrong. Trust me, I KNOW this for a fact. Not only do I work on cars for a living, but my 01 has ETC as well as every other pre-03 model 'hoe and 'burbans I've worked on. Not all pre-03 models have ETC, but most did.
