Engine dying on me...

After a couple of cranks from my battery, my 99 yukon will turn over, but after I put it in gear and give it gas the engine will die. I will still have electrical power when this happens, and will repeat this two or three times, then the truck runs fine and gauges read normal, is this an alternator problem? I am full on oil and fluids, I just bought the truck 148K and new I would need a new battery from the first couple of starts, the engine just started quitting on me within the last couple of days. Any advice?

you might want to go to a parts store with your alternator and get it tested, if not them it could be some wiring.
