DVD - Disk format error

I have a 2004 Tahoe that the dvd player stopped working. It gives me a disk format error. I have run a disk cleaner through it and get the same message as a regular dvd, which is "disk format error" Does anyone know how to fix, who could fix or know where to get just the actual dvd player and not the entire console unit or have any suggestions. DVD player is a panasonic. I can not find just the unit on eBay or the internet. They want to sell the whole console unit. Thanks for any help provided.
