Ok so if any of you have read any of my recent posts. I have a 97 tahoe 4x4 that I just put a brand new crate motor in. When I say new I mean 0 miles. So I get this motor and swap over all the pulleys, brackets, accessories from the old motor. The upper and lower intake as well as the fuel injection. I also kept the distributor out of the old motor, and all the sensors ( a couple of them broke but I have replacements). So I get everything put together and was getting the p1345 code (I think thats the number, its the one where the cam and crank sensors dont match up) and a p305 which means the number 5 cyl isnt firing right. I had a code for the evap system, one for an o2 sensor (at the time I only had one upstream sensor plugged in) So I was looking up info on the 1345 because after reading about how these motors are timed and all that. My thoughts were that the miss was probably related to the cam and crand sesor issue. So I replace the distributor and the `1345 code goes away as does the 305. Now there is a p300 code. the only parts of this morot at this point is the fuel imjectors. I got the new spider assembly that actually has injectors instead of popppits. How ever I dont want to put it in unless I absolutly have to. So what do you guys think? I really cant afford to replace all the injectors. Is there any thing else I can looks at. Like I said this is a brand new engine so we can rule out anything engine related. Not all of the o2 sensors are hooked up, I think 3 are but one isnt I know for sure. Would this cause such a rough idle? I am going to hook up the other sensor just to make sure

what is a case relearn. Another thing I just realised.. The other motor was a 305..When I bought it I was told it was a 350. I swaped over the intake, harmonic ballancer, and flywheel. I went and got a harmonic ballancer for a 350 today it appears to be the same part number but a new one couldnt hurt, I also got a new flywheel again same part number, but I noticed yesterday a slight wobble in the one on the truck. So I am pulling the engine for a third time and putting the flywheel, and harmonic ballancer on. Underneath the timing cover there is a little magnetic disc with a few cogs on it. It is what tells the cps where in the rotation the crank is.. I took that off the 305 too... Could that be causing me problems? Seeing how that gives the signal to fire(kinda) and I have a p300. Yea I am swapping in the injectors anyway now that I have to pull this dam motor again...this will be the third time I have pulled this motor out of this truck this month...Hopefully the last time too.

The new engine is a 305? Probably flooding it with the stock 350 injectors.

Does it have an Automatic? Flexplate/flywheel/balancer could be different part #'s also.

The CASE relearn lets the PCM recalibrate the correlation of the crank and cam sensors.

New motor is a 350 everything came off of a 305... Untill yesterday I thought the old motor was a 350.. Then I tore the heads off and saw those lil pistons..so now im thinkin my missfire is more than likely the injectors not delivering enough fuel huh

So if you have the new MPFI injector kit for a 350, I would install that so you wont run so lean.....
