I smelled gas on top of the tank of my 07 Tahoe and speculate it's a bad line or valve. I don't have time to deal with it, so I took it to a shop. They agree with my suspicions, but told me it would take 1.5-2 hours to drop the tank. That seems like a long time, but I haven't taken the time to take a tank out on a Tahoe. It's an expensive repair ($800-$900), mostly due to dropping the tank. Is this a reasonable repair or amount of time? Thank you.

The 1.5-2.0 hours to just drop the tank is too much but that time to drop it and reinstall is not too much. Especially is rust country. The added expense is the pump I am assuming since you never said. Must be a secret. Is it a line, valve or pump assembly? C'mon man!

I would kill for complete details sometimes!
