Door tone alarm thingie

Anybody know how to disable or silence the tone alarm you get when you have the key in the ignition and the door open?

I really hate this annoyance, I rather lock my keys in 20 times than to have to listen to that noise, all the cars and trucks I have owned over the years without the alarm and I never locked my keys in heh..

Its a 1996 Tahoe.
