Is there anyway to cut the buzzer off on my 99 4 dr tahoe when the door is open. I have already glanced at the fuses and the buzzer fuse is also shared with something else important(can't remember exactly) so I can't unplug the fuse. Anyone ever tried to tackle this? Is it even possible?

find the door chime switch on the door and unscrew it and add a plastic washer to it that should stop it

the reason this works cause in most cases the door chim is a open switch and you close the switch when you open the door so putting the plastic washer wont allow the closeing of switch

You could also unplug the Chime relay. Mine was missing for a long time so it won't cause any problems not having it in and you won't get the buzzer for keys in the ignition or for the headlights being on.

It's a black box about the size of one of those Klondike bars. It plugs into the ride side of the panel against the firewall to the right of the emergency brake pedal. Attached is a picture I found online...

make sure your door switch isn't rusted (not sure if thats a common problem on hoes and kons but thats what was wrong with my old ride), and take the keys away and you'll always know the lights are off. LOL.

Ok, new here... Just bought a 2000a Tahoe z71... Just looked and the buzzer is not there.
I read in another forum that it can be switched with a caprice and it will then have 3 different bells... I like the sound of that... Anyone know what years will work?
