New question... This car has 105,000 miles, and from what I can tell there was never a tranny service (they did tell me the rear transfer case seal was done though).

What should I do... a fluid/filter change only? Or a "flush"? I've read different opinions from searching on here. Sounds like it'd be pretty easy just to drop the pan, change the filter, and fill 'er back up. Maybe just start there?

I haven't noticed any problems except one thing... Today while driving around on some local roads, I heard a grinding kind of noise coming from the tranny area at low speeds. Didn't sound good. I passed it down through 3 - 2 - 1 and back into drive, and the noise went away. Truck seems to drive fine otherwise. Figure changing the fluid is a good place to start.

I would do a full flush and get as much of the old fluid out of there as possible. You will need the filter and approximately 18-20 quarts of fluid. You can do this without a machine and it isn't all that hard to do using the cooler lines to drain the old fluid using the natural flow of the fluid through the tranny so as not to hurt anything. If I can help with anything let ms know...

i just did the BG transmission flush to my hoe with 94000 miles unknown service records. Works great we have never seen one come back after the flush with a trans concern due to the flush.
