I have a 2 door tahoe w/ 6" lift suspension, Im running some 35" super swamper boggers. I just bought some 20" in rims w/ 38: mud grapplers made by nitto tire. My question is if I add the 3" body lift to my 6" suspension are my new tires being 38" will they clear my turns any suggestions? Thanks

The guys on the 94-99 section might be able to offer you better advice.

20s? :confused2: And a 3" body lift? You do realize that you'll have to relocate things like bumpers, radiator shroud, steering shafts, etc right? And make it look goofy with even more frame showing? With bling 20s, I'm guessing you don't actually do much off roading, so you can probably get by with trimming a little off the fenders if need be after all this lift...but the real question, like poster before asked, is the width of the tires and the backspacing of these wheels. I'm not real up on the IFS stuff (have an 87 K5 with 42s, serious trail rig), so can't tell you if you will rub on anything with that setup.

To each their own, but 20s on 38s? Yikes...

If you can, try to stay away from that tall of a body lift, they present nothing but problems...not to mention much less safe in an accident...either get more suspension lift, or trim the fenders if need be...

I dunno brother. . .my 02 silverado had a 12.5" lift on it and I got 38 x 15.5 x16.5, just floating inside the bodyline. I still had to trim a bit for the front air dam (taken from a z71 tahoe).

Thing is, if the tires are too stuffed up in there youre not going to get that nice lifted look youre looking for, and youre going to need an aweful lot of trimming. Plus there wont be any offroading if you decide.

Its still possible, but I would highly discourage it. If you really want 38's, youre better off saving up for a dana 60 conversion, and at least getting some 12" leafs/coilovers.

Tall kits like full throttle, cognito, bulletproof, whiplash, etc.: although they may be sound in their own construction, are all going to do a serious number on your frame and steering components over time. Cracked frame welds are more common than you think, and are not only sneaky and dangerous, but really add up. Trust me, Ive been through it. Just something to think about, speaking from experience.
