Thanks Rollin Thunder.
We put on 30,000 miles a year so I wonder if I should get an extended warranty to cover all the electronics and other non- drivetrain stuff. Any thoughts on that?

I see you plan to order a loaded 2009 Tahoe in April. I had planned to get a Tahoe too because I think they look cooler than the Denail's. But when I priced the Tahoe out with all the options I wanted, the Denali was barely more money. I concluded that for the same price, the Denali would have better resale and more importantly the bigger more powerful engine and the 6 speed transmission. I can tell you that I am glad I got the 6.2 liter engine. Its not only much faster than the 5.3 but is also a much more relaxed drive because the transmission doesn't have to hunt and shift so much to accelerate, especially on the highway. Recommend that you take both for a test drive before ordering.

If money is any issue you might want to check how much it would be to insure each one. Where I live the insurance on a denali was about $200 more

Depends where you live. Where I live Denali's are popular with a certain element and are frequently stolen for parts, especially nice aftermarket parts.
My friend had his Denali stolen out of his driveway while he was home.
A few hours later the police found it without it's very expensive wheels missing.

Fortunately my tahoe is not attractive to thieves, not a big market for stolen off road gear in this area.

i have no fear of theft in my area, most people around here own nicer cars than me. not uncommon at all to see a rolls, bently, slr meclarin, farrari etc. so i park near them so they get stolen and not my kon:lol:

The hot cars around here to get stolen are yukons, range rovers, and hondas.
The theft of hondas is proof that thieves are stupid.
The yukons are rovers are stolen if they have expensive wheels. I dont know why anybody steals hondas.

I've had a Honda stolen, its really quite simple why they do it. The Honda Accord and Civic are two of the best selling cars in the country, so thieves can easily sell the chopped parts for much lower than the escalated Honda price on said parts. When they found what was left of my Honda, they had stripped damn near everything from the sunroof glass, engine and even the head-rests. That is also why the older Silverados were stolen so much, they were chopped and the parts sold because there were so many shops willing to buy 'em.
