Hi, my 99 has problems going through distributor caps and rotors. If I go for more than about 3 to 4,000 miles it starts to miss, loose power, and causes the whole car to rumble and vibrate. When I replace the cap, I always see corrosion and alot of light green dust all over the inside. Can anyone explain?

Wow, it sounds like your ignition system is putting out max power all the time. Have you replaced you plugs and wires? I'd try all ac delco plugs, wires, cap, and rotor.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have changed plugs and wires with high grade stuff and the cap and rotor at least 3 times. That's why I am not sure if there is a distributor problem or some sensor. It actually feels like it might have something to do with spark advance, it only becomes a problem on heavy towing or highway high torque situations. Once in awhile it will cause the Check Engine light to come on and if it stays on long enough for me to get it to a shop or Autozone, the reading is "intermittent misfire" or something like that. Does that help?
