daylight dash lights

Hello all, i was just issued a 2018 chevy tahoe, im a k9 handler and work nights, as you can guess the daylight dash lights are killing my night vision when the head lights are turned off, anyone know how to shut these off before i crawl under the dash with a pair of side ctters and start hacking away until they shut off, major officer safety issue, total snafu by chevy.
