Hello all,
Great forum you have here, and I have been reading many of the posts.
I have searched for the answer already, but have only seen info on how to remove the bezel, (around the radio/inst cluster), or dash removal for newer years.
What I want to do , is to finally get behind there and find the rattle that's been driving me crazy for the last 3+ yrs. The rattle sounds like it is coming from behind the glove box, but toward the firewall behind the HVAC ducting, and about 4 to 5 inches below the edge of the glass. (It's nothing on the firewall side that's loose.)
Removing the glove box, limited access, and feeling back there while someone drives, I was still unable to touch or feel something loose. I suspect it's a loose palnut or something like that.
So, I already tried removing the bezel, and slid out the radio, hoping that I'd be able to see sideways in that area. No luck. I see that the dash top may be difficult to remove as one piece, as the whole cluster, HVAC controls, and who knows what else will come with it.
If I can just get the dash to slide back a few inches, I'd be able to look down there ans hopefully find the loose "whatever it is". Anyone have a diagram showing what I'd have to do to remove the dash top? If it's going to be a real nightmare to do, I may learn to live with the noise
Thanks in advance,
Gary.
