Ok, here is the events leading up to the arrival of my friendly orange engine light......

04' Tahoe 5.3 2WD:90Kmi. Saturday morning cleaned throttle body with deep creep and replaced gasket and bypassed the coolant line on the throttle body, Saturday night I ran about half a can of seafoam through the hoe and let it sit for an hour or two then blew it out and went to bed. Sunday morning I changed out the plugs went with AC Delco Irridium and left them gapped at .04 just like they came out the box. No problems with the plugs coming out or going in at all. Next, went to the gas station filled'er up and dumped in a bottle of fuel injector cleaner I had in the back of my truck.

I then decided to go on a little road trip to Northern Arizona from Phoenix. Nothing big about 160mi each way with a few good climbs ending up at about 7500ft. I had zero problems going up ran like a champ, holding steady @ 2K RPM cruising at 70mph. Had lunch, stopped by my pops place and headed down, all good them about 60mi out of Phoenix check engine light comes on right about the same time I dipped below 1/2 tank of gas, everything else kosher temp, oil pressure, throttle response..........

Just parked it and gonna see how she is in the morning. If you have any theories let me know. It is a steady light nor blinking and as far as I know that is an emissions indicator and not a missing plug....could be wrong though.......

Hook up a code reader and tell us the code it is throwing.

Until then, you (and anyone else) are just guessing.

Code reader.....

Well, I don't have one handy and am not really too familiar with them apart from seeing them mentioned here in the forum. What's the cost on one and where does it hook up? I saw some folks getting the codes read at local auto parts stores on a few threads, is this something they normally do?

Take a trip to autozone advance murrays and have them use their code reader and they will pull the code for you free.

"But my bet would be on bank1 bank2 O2 indicate lean" - Sepiroth

A sudden release of latent carbon residuals collecting upon the receptors of the alimentary emissive tract...

Are you thinking O2 sensor failure due to a extreme and traumatic cleaning experience?

Note to self: Watching a House marathon while under the influence of NyQuil can make one babble like an idiot.
