Custom Exhaust

I'm sure there is a thread about this somewhere else, so I am sorry for cluttering up the board with yet another... But, I was wondering if anyone has been able to put a dual exhaust on their Tahoe without removing the spare tire.

I have really been wanting to get a Magnaflow muffler single in dual out, and have the tips coming straight out of the back with black tips. I have seen a few pictures of this on the forum but I couldnt tell if the spare tire was still there.

Also, if it is possible, about how much does a custom "bending" like that usually cost with the muffler and installation included.

Actually I have a thread going on about this now. Do you know where you are purchasing your muffler from yet?

Of what I have read from previous posts, some have had it done but they stated that you have to find a shop that has experience b/c most shops will say they need to relocate brake lines and remove the spare tire.

The bending price is based on the shop itself. I have a good relationship with a couple of shops so of course I will get the job done cheaper then someone using them for the first time.

ok so i spent 2 hours at a truck store today, heres what i figured out the guy said that he can order the exhaust that comes out both sides beside the wheels. you can keep the spare tire if you leve it stock liek that but if you do anything they have had tires burnt down and almsot caught on fire so he recomended a product that was lik a heat shield that you rap it with... he gve me the name of a complay that makes the wrap in black, most companies only have silver looks liek dick... ill figure it out this weekend but thats the deal i believe its a boral exhaust that comes out duels to the side then you buy the tips and put them on... id really think it would look cool if i could figure a way to make them come out liek lambo from the center and turn outwards!!!! sick
