Crossbars on luggage rack

I just got an '08 Tahoe and it has the roof rails, but no crossbars / crossrails. I still have my '04 Avalanche and thinking about transferring the crossbars/crossrails to the Tahoe. The rails on the roof (and cross, from looking at others) look very similar. Does anybody know if that will work?

I don't know of anyone already doing this but it will only take a second to try. I thought I might have heard that they DON'T fit.

Take the end caps off of the Tahoe. (2 torx screws on each end cap) slide the rail on from end.

I just got finished transferring the crossrails from my Avalanche to the Tahoe. They are a completely identical part; transferred over without any problems at all and look perfect. It took me about five minutes; just slipped the end caps off as Tahoe07 described, transferred them over, put the end caps back on.
