I washed the car on Friday and noticed on Saturday there was condensation inside the headlamp unit. The dealer told me to just bring it in when the bulb craps out adn they'll give me a new headlamp assembly.

My question is this: Is there a way to dry it out in the meantime? Using a blow dryer, or something else?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

you can use a hair dryer, but if the dealer said wait for the bulb he is a shoddy dealer. if there is condensation in the light i would demand new ones. thats (imo) a terrible way to do business.

:iagree:

Tell him he can replace them now. If he doesn't, take it to another GM dealer.

UPDATE -
I took the advice here and went to another dealer. They deemed that there was "sufficient moisture" to warrant an entire replacement. They ordered a new one today.

But on that note - they did see one like this yesterday, but not as much moisture. They do have a standard of how much moisture must be inside the headlamp assembly before they replace it under warranty. ****ty IMO, considering we pay 40k plus for these vehicles.

Thanks for the comments.

I had the same problem a few weeks back after washing the yukon. I took it straight into the dealership a few days later after noticing the condensation in the drivers side headlight and the service guy did not hesitate to replace it under warranty. He said that he has seen a few of these before that they had already dealt with.

Yes, either the lamp is defective and the seal is broken in the globe somewhere or the bulbs' grommet is not sealing properly...
