I have a 2004 Z71 Tahoe, i do not have anything done to it YET. I am going to put a 4inch suspension lift on it but first i want to put a Cold Air Intake in it to improve horse power and Gas Mileage. What are a few good intakes i should look at? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Volant is good performance wise and looks wise, I plan to buy one soon, go to Autoanything.com and look up one for your vehicle!

I would recommend you get the suspension lift frist becuase you will notice a drop in gas mileage then you can bring back up with a intake, exhaust and programmer. I did my the opposite way intake and exhaust frist and it improved (about 1mpg and spent close to $1000) my mileage but then it dropped (3mpg) when i went with the suspension lift.

I went with a K&N you'll hear all kinda of BS when it comes to oiled filters. "oil getting onto the MAS" not happening unless you dip your filter in a barrel of oil or spray the whole freaking can of oil. one more rumour is you'll spend a lot of money on the oil spray/cleaning kit I've bought about 4 or 5 K&N intakes and most came with a free cleaning kit and oil. My $0.02

Yeah, there isn't a lot of horsepower gain with just an intake and exhaust. A programmer will be needed to extract the most out of those breathing mods. Having said that, I typically install intakes and exhausts for the sound and better throttle response. It seems like Volant intake and Magnaflow/Flowmaster exhaust are popular.

Post some pics when you lift it :)!

Hey Nnaboy, can you post pics of your DRL and HIDs? I think that might be my next mod.

Thanks!
